teach us to pray

Jesus’ disciples asked him directly, “teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1).  This is where I am right now as well.  Too often my conversations with Christ are one-sided and self-centered.  Now my heart is saying, “Lord, teach me to pray…differently.”  I want to learn how to pray the unforced, “Not my will, but yours.”  I’m finding I want to connect with Jesus, not just to get things done, not just to check it off the happy healthy to-do list, but to be with Him, to somehow connect with the deeper truth of life.  To sit at the feet of the Savior and see myself through his Divine eyes.

“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” – Luke 10:42
